NOTE: You need to create a separate advertising campaign for each advertising format. Within that, you can leverage multiple banner options of supported sizes. The number of impressions is equally distributed between the banners of the same size and within the same ad campaign. Please note that the minimum budget you can set for a day is 20 Euros.
Let us now turn your attention to the key features of our advertising formats.
In-Page desktop and In-Page mobile
These are some of the most popular formats for banner ads, having the highest volume of traffic worldwide. They fall under a standardized set of advertising specifications, which ensure your ads show up clearly on premium websites.
The average Click-through-rate of In-Page banners vary between 0.05% - 0.20%, and there are two reasons why advertisers choose them.
1) To reach a diverse audience and build positive brand perceptions on popular websites like Сoingecko.com, Ambcrypto.com, Livecoinwatch.com, Blockcypher.com, and Bitinfocharts.com.
2) To quickly launch a campaign, given that most advertisers have a standard-size banner ready for In-Page desktop and mobile advertising formats
NOTE: You should regularly optimize In-page campaigns and eliminate non-performing sites (>1500 views + 0 clicks) from the "Websites" section of your campaign. This is to ensure you are not wasting money on unproductive engagement.
In-page banners may not always be enough to gain significant traction. We recommend you combine them with custom formats and/or Pop-under ads.
In-page banners can help you:
· To boost brand awareness of your project and drive traffic from well-known crypto-related websites (extremely important for new and upcoming projects looking to conquer the market)
· To receive high volumes of impressions per day
· To launch and run a long-term advertising campaign with no downtime
· To target audience from one country or a small group of countries.
Sticky desktop, Sticky mobile and Premium Header desktop
Want more people to click on your ads?
Try the premium header banner - It’s the first thing that grabs the attention of the user when they visit the publisher’s site. That means higher impressions and better conversions!
A sticky ad banner is another trendy layout on the scene, which is essentially anchored to the top or bottom of a webpage. No matter where the user scrolls, your ad will be fixed in its place. No one can escape it. These banners are compatible with both desktop and mobile websites, making them a versatile option.
Given the higher viewability of premium header and sticky ads, they perform better than in-page formats. You can expect an average CTR between 0.20%-0.85%. However, the option to run ads on premium websites may be limited due to custom banner sizes.
This format is suitable for advertisers who are interested in:
· Driving engagement from high-quality websites with a higher CTR than In-page banners
· Running a campaign on a medium or a high daily budget
· Advertising exclusive offers and special promotions
· Using custom-sized banners*
Slide desktop + mobile
You must have seen those ads pop up to the left and right of a website when you open it.
These are dynamic banners with a high average CTR, roughly in excess of 1%. They are small in size (150X150), and highly vulnerable to misclicks. We balance this with a lower CPM price for this format.
It is suitable for advertisers who are interested in:
· Driving high traffic from both desktop and mobile users
· Higher number of clicks and impressions
· Running an advertising campaign with a small daily budget
· Quantity over quality of clicks
· Advertising exclusive offers and special promotions
· Using custom-sized banners*
*If you have a campaign budget of 2000 Euros or more, Cointraffic offers you a free of charge production of a complete set of animated high-quality HTML5 banners in all required sizes.
Native Ads ( content-integrated) desktop + mobile
Unlike banners, Content integrated Native Ads match the look, feel, and function of the platform on which they appear. They merge organically with the editorial content and appear to be a part of the website. This results in greater trust from consumers, as they interact with the ads just like other content on the website.
The average CTR of this format is between 0.10% and 0.2%. There are only a limited number of sites that accommodate this type of advertisement, but the quality of reach is higher than the banner ads.
In order to run Content- integrated Native Ads, you need:
1) Catchy headline - up to 50 characters.
2) Description - up to 250 characters.
3) Image - 800x600 (PNG/JPG, up to 300KB).
4) Tracker link.
This format is suitable for advertisers who are interested in:
· Quality reach over quantity reach
· Running a long-term advertising campaign with an average daily budget.
· Driving traffic to the press release page or a special pre-lander.
· Running a campaign with wide geo-targeting
· Targeting visitors with location-appropriate content (geo-targeting)
· Driving high traffic from both desktop and mobile users.
Native Ads (Notification) desktop + mobile
The Notification Ad format mimics push notifications - it pops up in the page's upper right corner on the desktop and drops out from the top on mobile devices. Your advertisements will not go unnoticed as people tend to naturally react to moving objects. That applies even more to notifications, which are designed to capture attention quickly.
The average CTR of 'Notification' is higher than a Content-integrated one and is about 0.35%-0.45%.
In order to run Notification ad format, you need:
1) Catchy headline - up to 30 characters.
2) Description - up to 60 characters.
3) Image - 192x192 (PNG/JPG, up to 300KB).
4) Tracker link.
This format is suitable for advertisers who are interested in:
· Running a short-term advertising campaign with a small to medium daily budget
· Running a campaign with broad geo-targeting
· Quantity-based reach over qualitative reach
· Advertising exclusive offers and special promotions
· Driving high traffic from both desktop and mobile users
NOTE: The native ad text should trigger the users' curiosity so they are compelled to know more about your project or offer. We recommend A/B tests to "play" with different headings and visuals to optimize the notifications for your branding.
Pop-under desktop and Pop-under mobile
Want your ads to be viewable straightaway to your target audience?
Try the Pop-under desktop and mobile ad format.
It shows up in the next browser tab when a visitor clicks anywhere on a publishers' site. Such ads bring user attention directly to your site or landing page. They can be quickly integrated with the help of a link, and no banner inventory is required.
Given the intrusiveness of this ad format, they are mostly placed on non-premium sites. The quality of traffic may be on the lower side, but it is balanced by a huge volume of clicks and impressions at a lower cost.
NOTE: At Cointraffic, the statistics for Pop-under desktop and Pop-under mobile display data only in the impressions column, and there is no duplication of data in clicks.
We recommend using landing pages for Pop-under campaigns and/or testing links to different sections of the project website (home page, sign-up page, etc.)
This format is suitable for advertisers who are interested in:
· Short-term advertising campaign
· Quantity reach over quality reach
· Driving cheap traffic with a small to medium daily budget
· Driving huge volumes of traffic from Tier 3 countries
· Running a campaign with wide geo-targeting
· Collecting registrations, email addresses, subscriptions etc
· Getting started as soon as possible, since there is no need for a banner
Good to know:
1) Each publisher can host one or more ad formats. Your ads will only be displayed on those sites that match the individual settings of your campaign (selected geo-targeting, ad format, CPM bid).
2) Dynamic GIF and HTML5 banners have higher CTRs than static JPG and PNG banners.
3) Make high-quality, eye-catching banners that resemble the design of your website or landing page. It's a simple and concise way to get the message out and build brand awareness.
4) Avoid using too much text on banners, as it may look messy and disorganized. Make sure to use fewer words and keep your message clearly in contrast with the background. We also recommend using a Call-to-Action button.
5) You should use different banner designs and/or messages to see what's working. A/B split testing helps you to figure out which banners garner the most attention and have the highest Click-through-rate.
6) For ad campaigns targeting Tier 1 countries, the CTR is about 10% below the average, while the same is 10% higher for Tier 3 countries.
7) Cointraffic works on an auction basis, which means the ad campaign with the highest CPM bid gets preference in terms of traffic, followed by the campaigns in descending CPM bid order. This depends on the selected ad format and geo-targeting. If your ad campaign is not driving enough traffic, you may have set an uncompetitive CPM. You can either raise the price or get in touch with our manager for advice.
8) As per statistics, there are more misclicks on mobile banner formats than on desktop banners.
9) Optimize your campaign for sites, creatives, and countries to improve the CTR. For better optimization, we recommend using links with UTM tags that can help you track where the traffic is coming from. Additionally, you can leverage Google Analytics or other third-party platforms for tracking.
10) Our ad network supports only banner files up to 300 KB.
With all the above information, you should have a fair idea about advertising formats and how they work.
The success of your campaign may depend on how willing you are to try different possibilities. Cointraffic has all the necessary tools, which, when used correctly, can bring unexpected results.
You should acknowledge the fact that no single advertising format can be a rainmaker for your marketing campaign. What might have worked for your competitor may not work for you. Never underestimate the power of testing different configurations to see what's working.
With a proper budget allocation, ad formats can complement and support each other, thus creating a balanced ad campaign. Having a combination of different designs can help you reach a very wide audience and strike the right balance between quality, quantity, and cost per click.
Please get in touch with our support team if you need any assistance in choosing advertising formats. Our managers will be glad to help you plan an individual campaign, considering all your preferences.
